I'll be intrigued to see how many people hit this post looking for different Cougars than the ones you are speaking about...
M^2 brings up a great point: the popular use of the term 'cougar' has ruined my ability to use it freely when describing my alma mater. Very frustrating...and talk about completly different sides of the spectrum!
