Too busy Toddy. I liked the other format better.
Typically I like lighter blogs more than pure black / dark blogs, so that's good.
On the other hand your sidebar is almost overpowering your actually content, so that's bad.
I do enjoy the part where you have "Great Blogs" and then a link to my blog. Maybe overpowering your content isn't such a bad thing...

It looks cleaner--maybe even giving it clinical trial levels of validity. It feels like I could order skin products from your blog. Good choice.
